BMW Concept RR: the Compass for the Next Generation of Superbikes

BMW has unveiled its vision for the future of superbikes with the Concept RR, a prototype that anticipates the design of the future flagship of the RR series.

A leap into the future
Markus Flasch, President of BMW Motorrad, stated: “This is the first time BMW reveals in advance the design of a new RR generation. This project, the result of our team's work, will set new technological and aesthetic standards.”

Inspired by WSBK
The Concept RR is directly derived from the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) competitions, with technical solutions tested on the track.

Design: Extreme Aerodynamics

  • Aggressive lines: Slim headlights, monumental front air intake, and wings integrated into the body.

  • Advanced materials: Carbon fiber frame and aluminum alloys for maximum lightness.

  • Hollowed-out tail and monocoque fairings optimized for cooling and aerodynamic load.

Racing Technology

  • Engine: Liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder (over 230 HP), inherited from the M 1000 RR WSBK.

  • Electronics: Integrated control system (engine management, traction control, engine braking).

  • Suspension: Öhlins shock absorbers and Brembo brakes with forged monobloc calipers.

Balanced Performance

BMW has optimized high-speed stability, cornering agility, and aerodynamic drag reduction, achieving a unique balance.

Destination: 2027

The Concept RR will not enter production, but will inspire the new generation of RR motorcycles, expected for 2027.
